About

The name Hazel and Agnes is from what I wanted to name our ridiculously
large kitties when we adopted them.  However, they were already far into their lives and therefore were quite attached to their given names: Patches and Casey.

I learned how to crochet when I was a kid, and I always doubted my ability to knit.  But, I love sweaters with a passion, so I decided to give it a try.  When I became obsessed with knitting, I was introduced to the world of “real” yarn- not the cheap, worsted acrylic that I was accustomed to.  I couldn’t even have begun to comprehend the varieties and colors of yarn that were out there.  When I realized that I could make yarn, well, I knew instantly that I wanted to do that.

I would sit at the computer for hours, looking at hundreds of photos of handspun yarn, waiting for the day when I would have my own spinning wheel. I have never been one to “dabble” in a hobby- I tend to go full out.  I didn’t even try spinning before I ordered my wheel.

That was two years ago, and I am still obsessed.  My dream is to be a full-time fiber artist, and even being able to seriously pursue it part-time is such a blessing.  I love every bit of it, and every morning I get to be excited about woolies.  It’s pretty amazing, actually.
