23 things I’d like to do before I turn 23.

I’m turning 23 in June (June 4th, to be exact), and while I am quite the young’n (I realized that many people do not know my real age and are quite surprised to know this about me), I have some goals for the rest of this year of my life.

1. I want to learn to whistle; you know, the kind with your fingers in your mouth to call your dog or quiet kids down.

2. Surprise Matt with an impromptu travel vacation. Somewhere near, not far. Just a little roadtrip.

3. Attend at least one Spanish Speaking Night. I lay no claims to the Spanish language, though I did take three years in high school. I’d like to learn it for realz someday.

4.  Speaking of foreign language, I’d like to be pretty good at reading/writing Cyrillic.  Learning to speak Russian is one of my big goals in life.

5.  Skate in a bout with my roller derby girls.  I tore my hamstring a few weeks ago, and I’m going to be out for quite some time.  My goal is to recuperate and be back on my skates as soon as possible.  (Remind me to tell you all about roller derby sometime.  It’s my new love in life).

6.  Teach my dog how to play frisbee.

7.  Go on a big date with my husband.

8.  Take a weekend trip with my girlfriends to the twin cities.

9.  Make my house more home-like.  Maintain it so I can have guests over and not feel uncomfortable!

10.  Make some semblance of an income from my business.

11.  Ride my sweet bike places.

12.  Take a motorcycle ride.

13.  As referenced in my 2010 goals, learn CSS pretty fluently.

14.  Get into graphic design- if not for any reason than to know how to do it.

15.  Play Claire de Lune on the piano.

16.  Get kind of proficient at ukulele.

17.  Re-learn Chopin’s Nocturne Op. 72 No. 1.  I played this piece for a competition in high school, and it is still my favorite classical piece of all time.

18.  Dye fiber and spin yarn for something specific; a monumental project.

19.  Finish the quilt I started for our bedroom.

20.  Finish the quilt I started for our living room.

21.  Send everyone birthday cards.

22.  Knit 2 more pairs of socks, and finish the majority of my in-progress knitting works.

23.  Take more pictures of my life, especially of me and Matt.
